The IRIS Center is seeking a UMD Undergraduate Accounting Support Student for both summer term and the school year.

 

Title: Accounting Support Student

 

Overall Responsibility:

Assist the Director of Finance and Administration in general accounting tasks.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Prepare and send out monthly invoices

Track cash receipts/deposits

File invoices, deposits, and project information

Prepare month-end journal entries

Assist in account reconciliations

Maintain spreadsheets regarding invoice amounts and deposits

Filing and copying as needed

Other tasks as assigned

 

Qualifications:

Experience using Excel

Good organizational skills

Basic knowledge of accounting principles

Reliable

Preferably a finance or accounting major

The student must be able to commit to approximately 20 hours per week and be reliable. Prefer someone available to begin work during the summer and must be able to continue through the school year (no summer-only applicants, please).
