Thirty minutes from downtown (moderate traffic).
Add 10-20 minutes during rush hour.

1. Go north on Rhode Island Avenue (Route 1), which becomes Baltimore Avenue in College Park.
    
2. Turn left onto Campus Drive.
     
3. Go around the “M” circle to continue on Campus Drive, past the Stamp Student Union. (Although not the closest lot to IRIS, you can park in the Union Lane Parking Garage by turning right onto Union Lane, just past the Stamp Student Union.)
     
4. Follow Campus Drive as it curves to the left and turns into Preinkert Drive.
   You will pass Morrill Hall on your left, above Parking Lot A (which doesn't have public parking), located on the hill between Tydings Hall and LeFrak Hall. This is where you will return after parking your car.
     
5. Continue following Preinkert Drive until it seems to end at a stop sign, in front of the parking garage. Continue past the stop sign, taking a left.
     
6. Turn right into the Mowatt Lane Parking Garage.

Forty minutes from downtown (moderate traffic).

1. Take I-95 South.
     
2. As I-95 splits to I-495, take I-495 West (toward Silver Spring), which is to the right. While doing this, stay in the left lane so you can take the exit on the ramp to U.S. 1 South to College Park.
     
3. Take U.S. 1 South.
     
4. Turn right onto Campus Drive.
     
5. Go around the “M” circle to continue on Campus Drive, past the Stamp Student Union. (Although not the closest lot to IRIS, you can park in the Union Lane Parking Garage by turning right onto Union Lane, just past the Stamp Student Union.)
     
6. Follow Campus Drive as it curves to the left and turns into Preinkert Drive.

University shuttle bus from the College Park Metro

• The university's shuttle buses pick up university-bound passengers on the EAST side of the station.
    
• Get off the shuttle at the last stop (Lot HH1/Student Union). Follow the path indicated by the yellow line on the campus map.

Take the Camden Line train (toward Washington). Get off at the College Park station and take a university shuttle bus.

From Union Station (Washington) — Transfer to the Metrorail system. Take the Red Line train (toward Glenmont). Transfer at the Fort Totten station to the Green Line train (toward Greenbelt). Get off at the College Park/U of MD station and take a university shuttle bus.

From New Carrollton (Maryland) — Transfer to Metrorail system, taking the Orange Line to the Green Line. Follow directions for Washington Metrorail, above.

Located in Arlington, Virginia, this airport is 15 miles south of College Park. Driving time ranges from 45 minutes to an hour.

• Metrorail — Take the Yellow Line (toward Mt. Vernon Square), transferring to the Green Line (toward Greenbelt). Get off at the College Park/U of MD station and take a university shuttle bus.

Located just outside Baltimore, this airport is 25 miles north of College Park. Driving time is approximately 35 minutes.

Located near Herndon, Virginia, this airport is 35 miles southwest of College Park. Driving time is approximately one hour.
