| Modernizing the Justice Sector in Peru |
| |
|
IRIS is working with local justice system actors to develop sustainable reforms to the Peruvian criminal justice system, with funding from USAID.
The judicial system in Peru has gained some independence since the end of the Fujimori administration, and there is now executive support for modernizing the judicial system.
The project seeks to identify and cultivate demand for reform from within Peru’s judicial system, and to provide technical assistance responsive to local initiative and ownership. Specifically, the project has worked with counterparts to
- Establish career systems for justice system actors
- Improve the efficient processing of criminal cases, including the implementation of a new criminal procedure code.
For more information, please see the project web site above. |
