| Strengthening Economic Think Tanks in Russia |

www.mpsf.org/eng-eco.html IRIS is working with the Moscow Public Science Foundation (MPSF) to develop Russian institutional capacity in economics, as well as other social sciences and humanities, through grants to institutions and to individual policy analysts.
Competitively selected Russian economic think tanks and freelance consultants are provided extensive support, including- Collaboration with senior experts from Russia and the West
- Internships at Washington-area think tanks
- Infrastructure development
The program is designed to enhance trainees’ professional skills in several areas:- Identifying key policy issues, priorities, and problems
- Preparing analytical materials using current tools and techniques
- Communicating with policy makers, opinion leaders and other audiences
The project supports policy analysis in a range of substantive areas, including macroeconomic stabilization, institutional change in transition economies, restructuring the banking sector, public finance, social policies and the labor market, small business development and the informal sector, regional economic development, enterprise restructuring, and investment and corporate control. |
