| Developing the Justice Sector in Bosnia & Herzegovina |

The newly formed Ministry of Justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina has support from USAID to strengthen and clarify its role in serving the country. IRIS is assisting this effort with the Justice Sector Development Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, implementing a range of tasks:- Helping the Ministry of Justice develop procedures for harmonizing the legislative frameworks of the State, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Republika Srpska.
- Improving public participation in the State legislative process, and providing a model for how public participation in the BiH Federation and RS legislative process can be strengthened.
- Providing expert advice in conducting legislative needs assessments and measuring the financial and other impacts of draft legislation.
- Coordinating donor assistance in the area of legal reform, to ensure that issues for donor work are addressed in a uniform fashion.
