Cynthia Clement
 
With fifteen years of experience in international development and institutional reform, Dr Clement has led projects all over the world. Dr Clement previsouly oversaw IRIS’s legal and corruption reform projects in Georgia and Romania, assisted with overall design and implementation — as well as taught field seminars on economic analysis for local administrators and academics.

Dr Clement plays a central role in field-based training, developing and implementing specialized policy-based curricula and participatory workshops. Her project-related research and analytic work includes
  • systematic assessments of justice sector activity


  • the design and advocacy of regulatory and legal reforms


  • identifying and analyzing options for competition policy


  • survey design and analysis
A faculty member in the University of Maryland economics department, Dr Clement lectures on
  • antitrust and regulatory policy


  • introductory macro and micro economics.
Her own research examines the value of law in transitional and developing countries.
